The Old Nick Theatre is located in the historical town of Gainsborough by the river Trent. The main connection to history this town has is that it was once a residing place for Richard III and Henry VIII. During the time these historically famous names were a part of this town, the theatre was a police station, complete with the cells where the prisoners paid their debt to society for their crimes. These cells are now closed to the public, however during ghost hunts the doors are open once more for us to investigate and connect to the spirits that haunt them. The Old Nick became a theatre in the 20th century, and still holds regular performances for the locals.
The hauntings of the Old Nick theatre are legendary among the locals, employees and performers. Dark shadows have been seen lurking around in the night, making noises and causing fear as they move around from room to room, following the terrified guests who dare to visit. The guards that once worked in this building have been seen checking on the spirits of the prisoners as they lie in their cells waiting for visitors to communicate. It is well known throughout the ghost hunting world that the most haunted locations are prisons and theatres; this amazing location combines the two.
